The care team at Burdon Grange recognises how important the provision of both mental and physical stimulation is to our residents. We are very pro-active in offering a wide range of new and regular activities, that enable residents to enjoy a full and varied quality of life.
The activities room at Burdon Grange offers our residents a wide range of interesting pursuits, including computers with broadband Internet access, email, colour printing facilities, gaming stations and TV, for all residents to use and enjoy. A snooker/pool table and a wide range of indoor games, arts and crafts and music CD’s and radio are also provided for our residents to use independently or with our assistance
We have a regular visiting Occupational Therapist who supervises activity sessions, including painting, crafts, cooking, gardening, skittles, garden draughts, and chess, outdoor hockey and many more.
All residents are invited to participate in our regular quiz sessions and film club where current films and favourite classics can be enjoyed.
We also have regular visits from a variety of professional entertainers, including musical performers, wild animal specialist visits and talks, archery and other more physical pursuits, all of which offer stimulation and a sense of well-being to our residents.
We also organise regular trips and outings to places of interest, in our own specially adapted vehicles.
We have a regular visiting hairdresser, or we can arrange for residents to visit a hairdresser of their choice.
We are able to arrange visits from churches of all denominations, or escort residents to services on request.
